How to get a Desjardins statement
Register for online statements first. In AccèsD, select Statements and documents, then under Register for online statements and documents select Accounts, investments and tax information slips, Register, accept the terms and Confirm. Your first online statement arrives the following month, and from then on you stop receiving paper.
Download in AccèsD (web)
- Log in to AccèsD and go to Accounts.
- Select your everyday account, then the Statements tab.
- Choose the statement and download it.
In the Desjardins app you can view statements (Accounts › See all › your account › Statements), but printing requires AccèsD in a web browser.
The 7-year archive starts when you register
Online statements are kept for 7 years, but only from the date you registered. For months before that, you need to ask your caisse or call 1-800-CAISSES. Business members should also know that switching back to paper in AccèsD Affaires removes access to archived statements, so download them first.
Desjardins downloads
Personal (AccèsD): you can download a statement in CSV format for a database or accounting software.
Business (AccèsD Affaires):
- CSV, TXT and OFX files of your financial data, for 12 months.
- OFX for bank reconciliation covers dates within the last 62 days. For QuickBooks, you may need to rename the file from .ofx to .qbo.
- Transaction search goes back up to 18 months and exports to HTML, TXT, OFX or CSV.
- The CSV uses YYYY/MM/DD dates and a period as the decimal mark, and there's a version without accented characters for software that can't handle them.
These cover recent activity well. For older statements, statement periods with balances, or a client's PDFs, convert the statements.
Converting a Desjardins PDF statement
- Upload one or more Desjardins PDF statements. Batch upload handles a year of monthly statements at once.
- Pick the output: Excel, CSV, JSON, Xero CSV, or QuickBooks 3- or 4-column CSV.
- Download one transaction per row, with date, description, withdrawals, deposits and balance in separate columns.
Amounts stay in dollars, and dates are written out consistently, so check that your accounting software's import date setting matches.
Getting Desjardins data into QuickBooks or Xero
- QuickBooks: choose the 3- or 4-column CSV and upload it from file. QuickBooks Online Canada takes up to 1,000 lines per upload and requires the file to be in English.
- Xero: choose Xero CSV and import it as a bank statement for the matching account.
