How to download an RBC eStatement
In Online Banking (personal)
- From the Accounts Summary page, select Statements/Documents at the top right.
- Under Your Documents, select Account Documents.
- Choose the account and statement period from the dropdown menus, then view and download the PDF.
Business clients start from the Account Balances page and follow the same Statements/Documents route. Only accounts set up for electronic documents appear.
In the RBC Mobile app
- Tap More (iOS) or Menu (Android).
- Tap Statements and select the account.
- Your last 6 statements appear automatically; use the dropdown for other periods.
Things to know about RBC eStatements
- One PDF per account. eStatements aren't consolidated, so three accounts mean three sets of statements.
- Download before you close an account. Once it's closed, its eStatements are gone from Online Banking.
- 7 years, with conditions. The archive lasts while the account is open and you stay enrolled in Online Banking. RBC says it's your responsibility to keep your own copies.
- Copies cost money. A personal deposit account statement copy is $5 for the last 90 days and $10 for older months. Mailed paper statements cost $3 a month.
Converting an RBC PDF statement
- Upload one or more RBC eStatements. Batch upload handles a year of monthly statements at once.
- Pick the output: Excel, CSV, JSON, Xero CSV, or QuickBooks 3- or 4-column CSV.
- Download one transaction per row, with date, description, withdrawals, deposits and balance in separate columns.
Convert each account's statements separately, so every file imports into the matching account in your books.
Getting RBC data into QuickBooks or Xero
- QuickBooks: choose the 3- or 4-column CSV and upload it from file. QuickBooks Online Canada accepts up to 1,000 lines per upload.
- Xero: choose Xero CSV and import it as a bank statement for the matching account.
This is useful for periods before a bank feed was set up, for accounts that have since closed, and when a client sends PDFs. RBC credit card eStatements convert the same way with the credit card statement converter.
