How to download NAB statements
In NAB Internet Banking
- Select Accounts in the menu and choose Account statements (business: Statements).
- Choose the account and a date range, then select Search.
- Select up to 25 statements and select Download, or View document for one.
In the NAB app
- Tap the account, then Statements.
- Tap the statement date, then Ok on the security message.
- Tap Share to share or download it.
The app shows up to two years of statements; Internet Banking goes back seven. For a statement with today's date, you can order a current account statement, ready the next business day.
Things to know about NAB statements
- Six-monthly by default. Most NAB accounts get a statement every six months, so one PDF can hold half a year of transactions.
- Closed accounts: statements are visible for up to seven years if you'd opted into online statements before closing (Account statements โบ Closed or Hidden Accounts).
- Recent transactions aren't a statement. NAB's app can produce a PDF of recent transactions, but NAB says it's a report of recent activity, not a statement.
NAB's transaction export
In Internet Banking, open Transaction history, filter by account and date range, then select Export for a spreadsheet, QIF file or PDF. It covers up to two years (731 days). NAB Connect business users can export CSV, PDF or QIF reports.
For anything older than two years, a full statement period, or a client's PDFs, convert the statements.
Converting a NAB PDF statement
- Upload one or more NAB PDF statements. Batch upload handles a year of statements at once.
- Pick the output: Excel, CSV, JSON, Xero CSV, or QuickBooks 3- or 4-column CSV.
- Download one transaction per row, with date, description, amounts and balance in separate columns.
Dates stay day-first and amounts stay in Australian dollars.
Getting NAB data into Xero, QuickBooks or MYOB
- Xero: choose Xero CSV and import it as a bank statement. NAB's free bank feeds also connect to Xero, from when they're set up.
- QuickBooks: choose the 3- or 4-column CSV and upload it from file. NAB doesn't list QuickBooks among its bank feed providers, so importing is the usual route.
- MYOB: MYOB Business imports statements as QIF or OFX. NAB's QIF export or its MYOB bank feed covers MYOB.
NAB credit card statements convert with the credit card statement converter.
